Big Macs Wholly Soul Band - Soul Band Profile

Big Mac’s Wholly Soul Band is a ten-piece music sensation, comprising the classic horn section, featuring tenor sax, trombone and trumpet; a scintillating, swaying blur of burnished brass punching out staccato chords or slipping in swirling swathes of sound that beef up the band’s backbone.

Fronted by two highly-visual and energetic female singers, alternating with great facility between lead and harmony vocals, not to mention costume changes, and adding that seminal gospel sweetness to the hard, earthy grittiness inherent in the Stax / Atlantic repertoire.

The band have appeared on numerous occasions on BBC Radio and TV shows and performed for many blue chip companies, private functions and weddings.

Big Mac's Wholly Soul Band have appeared on a number of T.V and radio slots, including voice overs for ads and performed a televised performance of two original songs for the Children In Need appeal. In their career so far the Mac’s have appeared with, in no particular order, Edwin Starr, Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, Van Morrison, Jools Holland, The Commitments, Go West, Limahl, The Pasadenas, Sweet, Mud, Captain Sensible, Marmalade, Mike Reid, Jim Bowen, Stan Boardman, Little and Large, Shed 7, Catherine Zeta Jones, Charlotte Church, Ian Botham, dodgy, The Bay City Rollers, Jaki Graham, Gwen Dickey of Rolls Royce, Squeeze, Midge Ure, The Saw Doctors, Pato Banton, Mike Flowers Pops, Dave Dee, King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys and innumerable unforgettable celebrities we’ve momentarily forgotten!
